Cucumber Raita

Raita is a yogurt based Indian dish. It is a coolant and can be a combination of herbs, fruits or vegetables mixed in beaten/ whisked yogurt. It is generally served as an accompaniment to the spicy main dishes. Cucumber is a very good coolant. It is a good source of vitamin A and C. It is also rich in minerals. With yogurt it makes a perfect accompaniment (raita) for hot curries. This cucumber raita is delicious and nutritious preparation.

Ingredients
(Serves 4)

Method of preparation

  1. Peel off, wash and grate the cucumber,
  2. In a glass bowl take yogurt and whisk it well. Add salt and mint powder.
  3. Now add grated cucumbers in the yogurt and mix well. 
  4. Garnish with red chilly powder and roasted and ground cumin  at  the time of serving.

Serve with any meal any time.

Some Tips/ Suggestions:

Add some freshly chooped mint leaves to inhance the flavor of Cucumber Raita.
